Author: Jron Magcale

It is really great to watch shows live, the performance is
always amusing, whether it’s a musical, dance, or stage play
but somehow a certain show offers more. The excitement, the
amusement and the well-known element of surprise, you might be a
little bit puzzled on what I am talking about. Well, I am
pertaining to the wonderful world of Magic shows that is one of
the most surprising things that you’ll watch. It definitely
has a lot of elements to just one show but realistically it is
motored by one thing, the magic tricks. Well I think that most
people already know that the show is run by magic tricks that
are being well executed by the magician or the main performer.
Although people know that it is a show, some still looks at it
as another thing that some people have in their minds. Obviously
it is just a show, but for some it is more that that.

Magic tricks are often a hard thing to do, if you don’t know
the basic, you might get lost, it’s that hard to accomplish,
most people knows how it’s done, sometimes it is just a simple
trick but most of the time it can be really hard, it is the
execution of the trick that makes it really good. The tricks are
also something that the performers have studied and practice
over and over so that it can be mastered, so when the show
comes, they will have a great performance and can make their
tricks seems real. That is something that most people are really
looking at. As a performer of course you have the code of ethics
on how things are performed and one big rule is to never let
others know about your magic tricks, it is a thing that most
magicians are bound to honor. You don’t want your tricks to be
copied or something, right? So, you better keep your tricks in
secrecy.

A lot of people have been really keen on learning a lot about
magic tricks, for some it is just a simple thing but for most it
can be a hobby that can ultimately lead into an occupation.
There are famous magicians that we all know, like, David
Copperfield, David Blaine Harry Houdini etc. they all like most
magicians have perfected their craft, it is something that they
give attention and time, just like any other, patience is a
virtue with the magicians, they know that in order to learn a
magic it’ll take blood, sweat and tears or something close to
it, it’ll take time, that’s for sure so when you are looking
on learning magic tricks, you should know more about it and
study the basics, I’m pretty much sure that you won’t going
to learn it overtime so might as well give it time. Magic tricks
can sometime be easy and sometime hard, it’s up to you if you
want to learn or just be a spectator.

Author: Izrul Fizal

Anyone can perform professional magic tricks; all it takes is
courage and commitment. Most magicians can truthfully say that
the majority of tricks in their bag are relatively easy to
perform, yet the real work is done offstage with hours of
practice. Many professional magic tricks are based on scientific
principles, and learning what makes them work goes a long way in
making a better performance.

Whether you want to make a lasting name for yourself, or if you
just want to be the life of the next party, here are a few keys
tips to developing a set of professional magic tricks.

1) Learn Each Trick Completely

If you are a beginner, learn simple tricks first. The procedures
for doing magic tricks can be found online or even in books from
your local library. Even though tricks may be classified as
easy, study and memorize every step. This will be good training
for you when you advance to more difficult tricks. Get into the
habit of learning each trick completely; this is a good first
step to performing professional quality magic tricks.

2) Practice Makes Perfect

Sometimes, practicing is the hardest part. We all want to
immediately work in front of an audience to hear their applause
and gasps of wonder. But to get the accolades, you must first do
the time. Practice your magic tricks before a mirror, or
videotape yourself for a play by play account. Practicing is
never a waste of time.

Each minute brings you closer to your goal of performing
professional magic tricks. When you watch your performance,
either in a mirror or on videotape, you can spot any mistakes or
actions that should be corrected. Practicing is the best way to
progress.

3) Zero in on Details

Once you get the hang of a few tricks and understand the basics
of magic, you may think you can relax a bit. Not so. Magic
tricks, even the simple ones, have details that can’t be
overlooked.

Every magician knows that their entire performance may hinge on
the smallest of details. Never look for a shortcut; there are
none in magic. Professional magic tricks succeed because the
magician considers every step and detail to be equally
important.

4) Simplicity Equals Success

Here is an amazing and totally true thought: Most magic tricks
are incredibly simple. Of course, professionals want their magic
tricks to confound and astound, but the reality is that these
illusions are based on easy to learn principles. Sometimes, most
of the magic is in the magician’s performance, rather than the
trick itself. Many tricks that are currently seen in shows today
are actually hundreds of years old. This testifies to the
magician’s everlasting ability to entertain and to the
audience’s never ceasing wonder.

To perform professional magic tricks, first develop a
professional attitude and then practice until your skills are of
professional quality. Remember that a professional is merely
someone who has studied and mastered his subject. In the case of
magic, anyone can reach this level with a determined commitment
and a desire to be the best they can be. Before going onstage,
repeatedly practice your act offstage. And then listen to the
applause that you will conjure up!

Magic Tricks: Who doesn’t get impressed and attracted by magic?
Ranging from small kids to adults, the simple magic tricks
entertain them. But magic tricks are not something related to
powers beyond human’s reach. It is mere mastering the skills of
sustaining the attention of the onlookers while the ‘magician’
completes the well-practiced steps to achieve the magic. Thus
the onlookers are eventually convinced that they had witnessed
something supernatural rather than recognizing the tricks. Well
magic tricks cannot be termed as duping the onlookers; it
demands lots of practice and mesmerizing skills like talking
continuously while performing the trick to divert the onlookers.
With the job of magician briefed, it is time to have a brief
about performing simple magic tricks to impress friends and
family. With proper guidance and interest of the individual, one
can pull off a good magical performance. Though adults can see
right through certain magic tricks involving smoke or the trap
doors, it is a fact that there exist several unsolved magical
tricks all over the world. But to clarify once again, it has
nothing to do with witchcraft or supernatural powers; in simple,
those magicians had been really clever that they never let their
audience guess what had actually happened.

Types of Common Magic tricks: Most of the magic tricks involve
the conjuration with simple playing cards or the coins. Finding
the card which the onlooker picks from the pack of cards is one
of the most general one. As many will be aware, it is a simple
trick of noting the one below the card seen and returned by the
onlooker. Care must be taken while shuffling such that the two
cards do not separate. Then turning the cards to its face, the
card seen by the onlooker can be easily found. It may sound
simple once it is explained but the admirable part is most of
the magicians do not expose how they manage the particular
trick. Unless those are resolved, they can be called as magic
tricks. The next most general magic tricks are the ones dealing
with disappearance of persons or place, or to cut the assistant
in half, to fly without any support and so on. The list is
endless and it should be accepted that most of these tricks are
worth appreciating for the magician’s hard work and preparation;
nothing comes for free, even magic.

The ‘Magic’ of Magic Tricks: The differentiation between what is
trick and what is ‘real’ has always been fuzzy. Though most of
the simple magic tricks can be related to the cautious
mastermind of the magician, there have been several cases of
unsolved magic tricks such us instants when magicians made
famous places disappear for a while in front of hundreds of
onlookers. All over the history there are such unsolved puzzles
which still awe many. It is an agreed fact that there has been
no documentation to prove that these were ‘magic’ but at the
same time, there are no evidences to prove against it either.

Author: Kim Wist

Trade shows offer a different but very interesting venue for
various entertainment artists. Because people move around and
performances are very seldom arranged at specific times, a
performer’s main job is usually to attract and keep customers by
the stand.

However, a skillful performer can attract a big group at the
same time and develop a good overall feeling about the company
he’s working for. I often found that some people don’t come
immediately to visit the stand after the performance, but
interest is awakened and they come later the same day.

As a magician I have worked on many trade show events and found
different ways to promote the client and their products. Magic
is good because people are generally very interested in it and I
have found that the company message is easy to deliver disguised
in a magic trick. The magic performed can use the company name
or product, thus linking the sales message with magic itself.

Different attraction methods has been used by companies;
musicians, jugglers, loud sound effects and even theater but
nothing works better than a seasoned performer who can gather
big crowds in minutes. As in street magic, we need sound, color
and movement to attract attention, it is a good idea to work on
a slightly elevated stand from time to time, but once some
onlookers are attracted, the interest is developed and more will
come.

Once the customers are around the stand, the sales staff has a
better chance to move in on them. This is why magic is good,
because it can hold peoples interest for many minutes and those
few minutes might be the difference between a sales person
making a contact or not.

I have had special cards printed with the company’s logo and
message printed on the other side. When doing a card trick I
make a visual card change in the customers hand and give the
changed card as a souvenir to keep. This is very strong, because
first of all the customer has an object to keep that changed in
his hands impossibly and he will show it to others and tell them
the story. The others will hear where this happened; the company
name and the magicians name get free promotion. If he tells this
story to his mates at the trade show café, one simple card trick
can attract many more free customers per day to the stand. This
is the power of good magic!

A magician at a trade show stand can create a much more
memorable image of the company than a standard, often boring
stand could ever do. Many trade shows stands are uninspiring,
except to those particularly interested in the product. People
walk around and see the same type of stands over and over again,
and we need something to really awaken their interest, get them
to stop, wake up from their day dreaming state and visit this
interesting stand. Using a magician as an attraction creates a
different image and can easily make this company stand out from
the others offering the same product or services. It also makes
you memorable, and sometimes at trade shows this is all you
seek.

The best way to do this, for me as a magician, is to use close
up magic and impromptu stand up performances by the stand. I
might start slowly with close up and get some people interested
and then slowly turn it to a more public performance. For the
stand up shows, I use a wireless microphone, some colorful items
in the beginning that change fast and some custom build sound
effects in between effects. Humor is also very important, and
once a good crowd is gathered, the important message is simple
to deliver. If done correctly and professionally customers will
remember this company and they get many new potential clients.

Fans were screaming, people clapping, the whole theatre was
going insane, it felt like being at a Rock Concert, I found
myself at the hottest act in Vegas staged at the Luxor Hotel,
Criss Angel’s Believe. Criss Angel, the hottest new magician
with Rock star looks became famous with his TV show “Mindfreak”.
This show deputed in 2005 and soon became a huge success, due to
Criss unusual stunts and street magic. Criss put a new spin on
Magic Shows and now he translates this into a new Vegas stage
production. The Show is truly un-believable nothing you’ve ever
seen before: part theater, part Magic Show, part Ballet, you
cannot put this spectacle into a category and it’s no other than
Cirque du Soleil who teamed up with Criss Angel to create “
Believe”, a show beyond your wildest dreams. Criss Angel chose
the show’s title based on Houdini’s famous promise to his wife
that, if he could communicate from the other side, he would do
so with the code word “believe” so that she would know it was
him. In the show, Angel is the centerpiece of a surreal allegory
with Victorian overtones. It doesn’t surprise to hear that Criss
favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz. It’s about a magician who
gets hurt while performing on stage and while hanging between
life and death has fantastical dreams or hallucinations of
finding love, reaching for it and not getting it, getting it,
and having it ripped away by death. The shows goal is to
represent the emotional connection you feel when you watch
magic. A fresh and new approach to magic, do you believe?

Author: yuushoji

A child’s life is not complete without magic. The supernatural
act has been known to humans since early 1400′s and has been
used as a ploy for thieves to make victims out of the magician’s
audience. Nowadays, magic has been extraordinarily brought to
streets with the likes of Criss Angel and David Blaine. What
better to way to enjoy this performance, than to learn magic
yourself!

Lay Your Cards on the Table

It is best to know where to go and who to ask for help. The
first step in order to learn magic is getting your resources
straight. A great way to start is to find your local magic shop
that sells props or equipments that would aid your performance.
More often than not, each tool would come with a handy
instruction guide on how to use it more effectively with your
chosen audience. You may also opt to seek advice from store
owners as they best know the tricks each product holds.

There are also books that hold collections of simple magic
tricks that can be done at home or out on the streets. And as
always, classes are also available in the World Wide Web that
can suit lessons for a toddler to a senior citizen. In your
quest to purchase the right prop to use and how to use it, you
will surely learn magic in different places.

Performance is the Key

To learn magic quickly and easily, one must also have the basic
knowledge of entertaining an audience. An essential part of this
mystical feat is not to hold your viewer’s attention to whatever
is in your hand. You have to look at them straight in the eye
and divert their attention to the questions you ask. This would
then allow your hand to move more freely and create that
seemingly impossible illusion that would make their jaws drop.

Another way to entertain your audience is by making them laugh.
When we laugh, we do not pay much attention to what is happening
and there are greater chances for you to do unnoticeable
gestures. This misdirection would lead to your observers
thinking that the ball did disappear or the rabbit did
materialize out of the hat.

‘Kid’ding Around

As a child, we easily get upset by things we couldn’t do. When
the sandcastle’s roof falls apart, we end up destroying
everything out of frustration. When we learn magic, there would
be times that we would fail. At this time, you may choose to
give up or to learn from your mistake. The latter would always
be more fulfilling.

The fruit of performing magic is not in the knowledge that you
are powerful and that you hold your spectator’s trust, but it is
in finding the joy in little things. You have to take your
viewers to a place that they’ve never been before, and this can
only be achieved by practice and perseverance. Without the two,
there are more chances that the trick will not work.

Lastly, remember to involve your audience. What makes a great
magician is not how big his audience is, but how in tune they
are to him.

On seeing a lot of dreamlike shows I end that it has truly what
it takes to be one of the best out there. Although
performance-prudent it has a different take evaluate to dance
showing, musicals or even site theater, special shows can still
cuddle their own. People know that the charmed shows certainly
can take the interview by storm and certainly impress them with
great shows and captivating performances. They said that
magnetism shows are fueled by awfully executed lovely tricks
that have been willful and expert for days.

A big part of a sparkle show’s triumph comes to its tricks, the
better and single the deceive is the better the show can be,
over the living different kinds of tricks has been formed and
skillful into perfection to liberate a great performance that
can be delivered into a even superior show. Of course most of
hand made the tricks which 90% of the time the arsenal for
trickery tricks. Most the misdirection made tricks and trickery
with hand pace and coordination. It is like the juggler let us
see what they want us to see and then at the same time pulls a
dupe that can be certainly breath pleasing and the end point,
great show.

Most people know how good a show can be with the help of great
tricks. Although the essential enchanted tricks can still make
people say ohhs and ahhs the thing is touching tricks does draw
a lot in making the show a stunner, it is known that charmed
tricks can change into different combinations and variations
from one important fool to another thus making a sequence of
tricks that can sincerely be considered as great performances.
Tricks in appeal can very be interesting but of course culture
it is another thing, you have to give it to the performers on
making their magnetism tricks appear sincere to most eyes.

The tricks that most magicians do are hard because first and
principal the viewers doesn’t actually give you applause with
the intact rabbit in the hat fake anymore, so most magicians
would cope on their equipment and do something actually
impressive that in the end can transport a great performance,
the whole disappearing acts of David Copperfield to the bold
moves of David Blaine, people tends to suppose that it is all
enchanted. Well in the eyes of most people it can be, but of
course you’d be the determine of your own view of course. Well
winning on a closer look at magic tricks, we should forever make
view found on our understanding not just by our eyes, Magic Tricks can be a very
broad theme to tackle.
